This is a family favorite around the holidays. Traditional German white sausage with delicious cooked apples. We hope you enjoy it.
What you will need:
4 Tbs butter
4 Macintosh apples, cored and sliced
8 Weisswurst or other mild, white sausages
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 Apple Cider/Juice
1/4 Cooking Sherry
Preheat oven to 350. In a skillet heat slightly cook apples in 3 tbs of butter over medium heat until they just start to feel soft, add salt and pepper. Put apples aside in baking dish. Brown sausages in remaining butter then add to baking dish (you could also slice into pieces before baking). Add the apple cider and sherry and bake for 20-25 minutes or until juices run clear in the sausage.
